This Month Kia Marks 10 Years of Production in Europe

Today’s car manufacturers have a long list of responsibilities to meet, not only in the products they produce but in the methods they use to produce them. This month, as Kia marks its tenth year of production in Europe, there is a lot to celebrate! As many customers may know, the Bill Barth Kia dealership in Bismarck works to support many organizations in our community.

Our dedication to helping those who live and work around us is a trait we inherited from our parent company. While we have been working hard right here in our North Dakota community, below are some of the accomplishments our European manufacturing plant has made during its first decade of production in Žilina, Slovakia:

The Cee’d

The Cee’d is the most popular car produced at the European plant, allowing for 45% of all the vehicles produced at the plant. It also produces the Kia Sportage and the Venga, along with the popular 1.6-liter diesel engine which is produced in two engine production shops.

The popularity of the 1.6-liter diesel engine and the Cee’d come together in the compact. With the upgrade to the 2016 Cee’d model, drivers will enjoy enhanced driving and performance while also having Kia’s all-new 3-cylinder 1.0-litre T-GDI engine. Additional changes include the addition of new safety, convenience, and comfort features that make the compact even more fuel-efficient and more enjoyable to drive.
