Kia recently secured the coveted top spot in J.D. Power’s 2016 Initial Quality Survey. What does this mean for drivers? Reaching #1 means that an automaker ranks above the rest in new owner satisfaction. The annual rankings are based on around 80,000 consumer reports taken within the first three months of ownership.

Kia is at the top of the list in 2016, marking the first time a non-luxury brand reached #1 since 1989. Among the reasons cited by consumers why Kia deserved the top spot are improvements to infotainment consoles, simplified driving controls, fewer glitches with equipment, and performance reliability.

In addition to earning the top award in the Initial Quality Survey, Kia is also an IIHS Top Safety Pick, won the Kelley Blue Book Award for Best Value Brand in 2014, and has been named the “Best Global Green Brand” by Interbrand. At the same time, new Kia drivers also enjoy a 10-year / 100,000-mile warranty that provides even more incentive. Learn more about what makes Kia #1 by visiting your nearest Kia dealer.
