2017 Kia Forte – What’s New?

The Trims:

LX trim – This standard, entry-level trim begins with upgraded cloth seats, dual-zone temperature control, and a Smart Key ignition system, complete with push-button start.
S trim – Sporty, aggressive, and souped-up for maximum power, the S-trim comes with upgraded suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, a chrome exhaust tip, and a 7-inch touchscreen control panel.
EX trim – Complete with exclusive exterior features like LED tail lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, front door pocket lighting, and more, this luxury trim also comes with Dynamic Bending Light, which is technology that allows drivers to control their headlights using their steering wheel in order to see around dark corners.

More Powerful on the Inside

By far the biggest changes to this year’s model are under the hood. In fact, many experts suggest that most consumers won’t notice the major differences in the 2017 Kia Forte until they finally get behind the wheel.

With a 2.0-liter engine (an upgrade from the old 1.7-liter) and a six-speed automatic transmission, the driver commands far more torque and control than ever. Hitting almost 150 horsepower at 6,200 RPM, it’s certainly a limit-defining feat for small-sized cars everywhere. The S and EX trims even come with a Drive Mode Select feature, which allows drivers to change their steering and powertrain responsiveness across three modes – Normal, Eco, and Sport.

Additional Safety Features

After achieving a 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA, Kia decided to go further and give their new Forte a suite of technological features that bundle convenience together with safety. With Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Autonomous Emergency Braking, it’s clear that the new Kia Forte has kept the well-being of their drivers as a top priority when designing this car, and will continue to do so in the years to come.
